A.O.S. Update

Currently you will need a Windows based PC to Update the A.O.S. This is due to Xloader only being Windows based.


  • Windows based PC
  • USB A-B Cable

To update your A.O.S Software you will need to first load the Drivers for the internal Arduino inside the Tester. The easiest way to do this would be to install Arduino IDE from HERE.

Once you have loaded the IDE you will need to plug in the USB A side of the cable to the back of the Tester and the USB B side of the cable to your Windows based PC.

This will prompt the Drivers to load and allocate a COM port

If you have an Arduino with a CH340 16 Pin Serial IC then Drivers will Load with Legacy Drivers and allocate and COM port

(Please make note of this COM Port)

Serial Install

If you have an Arduino with a ATMEL Flat Pack Serial Chip then the Legacy Drivers will Fail and this is Normal.

You will need to go into Control Panel and Click Device Manager. Look for the Unknown Device

Right Click and click Update Driver Software

you will need to select Browse my Computer

The location will be:

  • For x86 PCs - C:\Program Files\Arduino\drivers
  • For x64 PCs - C:\Program Files (x86)\Arduino\drivers

you may be prompted with a Install Box which you need to click Install

Once installed you will get a confirmation and a COM Port Allocation

Now you have installed the Driver Software the next thing will be to upload the A.O.S into the Arduino. This will be done using XLoader

You will need to Download XLoder from the XLoader Website


It is a standalone software and does not need to be installed

Open the XLoader.exe program and set the Device to Arduino Mega2560. COM Port will be your allocated Port. and Baud Rate leave at 115200.

Load the HEX file provided on the Firmware Page and click Upload

And your A.O.S is updated and the Version Number will show up on the LED display upon startup of the tester.
